The words "Retrieved from" are not typically used in APA 7 references. However, there is an exception.
If the material being referenced is likely to change over time – such as a blog post or wiki page – the reference requires a Retrieval Date. According to Chapter 9 of the APA 7th Edition Publication Manual, when a Retrieval Date is included, the words "Retrieved from" must precede the URL.
Example:
U.S. Census Bureau. (n.d.). U.S. and world population clock. U.S. Department of Commerce. Retrieved January 9, 2020, from https://www.census.gov/popclock/
You can also find more information on the APA Style Blog under "6. Webpage on a website with a retrieval date": Webpage and website references – APA Style
To generate a reference without "Retrieved from," leave the Retrieval Date blank when creating the reference in PERRLA.
