PERRLA for Word will automatically update and sort references that have the same author and date information - you don't have to do a thing! It just works.
In the example above, we have two sets of references that would both be shortened to the same citation in APA. Both Bellamy references would be shortened to "(Bellamy, 2019)" and both Pack references would be "(Pack, 2016)."
This is a problem because your reader wouldn't know which reference you were citing. So, the APA 7th Edition requires that the years be amended with a letter to distinguish between them.
PERRLA for Word will analyze all of the references in your paper and update them correctly so that they all have unique citations.
PERRLA for Word will create citations for "(Bellamy, 2019a)" and "(Bellamy, 2019b)," or "(Pack, 2016a)" and "(Pack, 2016b)."
As you add, edit, or remove references to your paper, PERRLA always keeps them updated and sorted correctly.
