Some items on your title page are locked to protect their APA, MLA, or Turabian formatting. Locked fields highlight when you hover over or click into them.
Here's what you need to know:
-
Use the Title Page panel to edit content inside a locked field.
In the PERRLA for Word Add-in, these locked fields are called Content Controls. See How PERRLA Interacts with Word – Content Controls to learn more. -
You can add your own content outside a locked field.
In PERRLA Online, you can click anywhere on the title page to place your cursor outside a locked field. In the PERRLA for Word Add-in, use the left or right arrow keys to move your cursor outside a Content Control before typing. -
You can rearrange your title page and PERRLA still works.
As long as the title page fields remain on the title page, PERRLA will continue to update them. If you move them off the title page, they will no longer receive updates from PERRLA.
These same principles apply anywhere PERRLA locks content on your title page, not just to specific fields.
