Adding and Removing a List of Tables or List of Figures (Online)

If your paper contains a large number of figures or tables, you may be required to include a List of Figures or List of Tables page.

Adding a List of Figures or List of Tables

Papers created after July 28, 2026

In PERRLA Online, you'll use the Navigator to the left of your paper to add sections.

1. Click the + icon next to Navigator. 
2. Under Paper Parts, click List of Tables or List of Figures.
   In Turabian papers, you also have an option for List of Illustrations.

PERRLA will add the List of Tables or List of Figures after the Table of Contents in your paper.

Papers created before July 28, 2026

The List of Figures and List of Tables features were not available in the previous PERRLA Online editor. If you need to add these to an older paper, see Creating a List of Tables or List of Figures (Add-in) for instructions on how to create them manually using Microsoft Word.

Removing a List of Figures or List of Tables

Papers created after July 28, 2026

1. In the Navigator, click the three dots next to the list you want to delete. 
2. Choose Delete section. 
3. Click Yes, Delete to confirm. 

Papers created before July 28, 2026

This feature was not available in the previous PERRLA Online editor.
