If you need to insert a figure into your PERRLA paper but only have a PNG file, you can convert it to JPG using built-in tools on both Mac and Windows.
Mac
Mac's Preview app makes it easy to convert a PNG to JPG.
- Open the PNG image in Preview.
Preview is the default app when double-clicking an image. - Select File > Export.
- Name your file and select a save location.
- Change the format dropdown to JPG and adjust the quality slider.
- Click Save.
Windows
Windows uses the built-in Paint application for this conversion.
- Open the PNG file in Microsoft Paint.
- Select File > Save as.
- Type the desired file name.
- Click the Save as type dropdown and select JPEG.
- Click Save.
