If you can't upload a file, it's usually because the file is too large for your current plan or because you've used up your available storage. Here's how to tell which one you're running into and what to do about it.
My File Is Too Large to Upload
Files attached to your references are limited to 10 MB on a standard PERRLA subscription. Large scanned readings and image-heavy PDFs often run past that.
You have two options:
- Reduce the file. Most PDF tools can compress a scanned document substantially without hurting readability.
- Raise the limit. PERRLA Pro allows files up to 50 MB, and PERRLA Unlimited allows files up to 100 MB. See PERRLA Plans and Storage for upgrade steps.
I'm Out of Storage
You've reached the storage included with your plan, so new uploads are paused. Everything already in your library is untouched and still available.
You have two options:
- Free up room. Remove files you no longer need from Library & data in your Settings.
- Raise the limit. PERRLA Pro takes you to 10 GB, and PERRLA Unlimited removes the storage limit entirely. See PERRLA Plans and Storage for upgrade steps.
If you're not sure which of these you're running into, check the error message you received, or reach out to Customer Support for help.
