Lost text in your PERRLA Online paper? Don't panic! If you've ever saved your paper, we have a backup of it – and you can restore a previous version yourself.
How this happens
The most common cause of lost work is having your paper open in more than one place at the same time. This means more than one tab, more than one browser, or more than one computer.
Here's an example: if you have your paper open at home and then edit it on a work computer, the auto-save from your home computer will overwrite the edits you made at work.
To prevent this from happening, always save your paper and log out of PERRLA Online – or return to the Home dashboard – before switching devices or browsers. That way, auto-save won't overwrite your work.
The rule is simple: only have your paper open in one place at a time.
How to restore a previous version of your paper
You can restore a previous version of your paper yourself in just a few clicks. Open your paper, go to the Overview tab, and you'll see a list of previous saves. Choose the one you want to restore and you're good to go.
